There is no set number as it will be determined by how often you come, past experience, any limiting factors, what class you are interested in attending, etc. Reevaluation will take place after approximately 10 sessions. Please call the studio for current rates for the types of sessions you are interested in scheduling. ALL Pilates sessions and classes are by appointment ONLY. 24-hour notice is required to cancel an appointment of any kind or you will still be responsible for the full session cost. Monday appointments must be canceled before 5 PM on Saturday to meet the 24-hour cancellation requirement. NO EXCEPTIONS. ABSOLUTELY no scheduling or canceling will be accepted by email. Pilates Studio Etiquette and Rules |
Certain rules are established for all movement sessions and classes to allow order and maximum benefit to all involved. These rules have been established over 100's of years and are part of most serious movement disciplines. Please review these rules and etiquette. |
DRESS CODE: For all Pilates lessons and classes: Form-fitting clothing. Black ONLY. No prints, designs, or stripes. (Black is preferable but any solid color may be worn for Private Lessons ONLY). ITM t-shirts may and are encouraged to be worn to lessons. Bare feet. Hair should be pulled away from the face and up off the neck. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum. Men, if you feel the need to wear loose shorts, please be sure to have tight shorts underneath them. Dance belts or jock straps are recommended. Be sure to wear deodorant. No perfumes. Please keep lotions to a minimum as they ruin the vinyl on the equipment. Thank you. BE ON TIME: All sessions start promptly on the hour (or 1/2 hour) and run 55 minutes from that time. You are on time when you are dressed appropriately for class and in your space on the floor with your equipment, if needed. Plan to be ready for class AT LEAST 5 minutes before class starts. In a movement class, the teacher should be the last person to enter the class. It is a sign of respect for the teacher, yourself and for others to be on time. If unforeseen circumstances cause delay, please ASK the teacher quietly if you may join the class. Please do not just run onto the floor. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may not be allowed to join as the class may already be to a place that entering late could cause injury. It is up to the teacher, not the student, if the late-comer may join. It is for everyone's safety. It is disruptive to the teacher and to the class to have someone arrive late. Part of committing to attend a class is your responsibility to be on time. For private, semi-private, triplet lessons and massage therapy sessions, if you are going to be late please call the studio so the teacher or therapist knows that you are on your way. Sessions will not be extended past your scheduled time for lateness in fairness to the next appointment. TECHNOLOGY: Please turn OFF all cell phones and pagers. If there is an emergency, you may turn your phone on vibrate, but do not disrupt the class if you would need to answer it. You must do so in the dressing room or waiting room. If you must have your cell phone for an emergency, please place yourself in the back of the class and near the door so that your leaving will not disrupt the class. If you are in a private, semi-private or triplet lesson please answer the phone out of the studio space in one of the above-mentioned areas so as not to disrupt other sessions or lessons. TALKING IN CLASS: Please do not talk in class to others while the teacher is presenting. It is distracting and disrespectful. If you have a question that needs to be addressed, please ask the teacher when asked for questions. Some questions, if specific to only you, may not be addressed if it is not for the benefit of the entire class. Those questions will either be addressed after class, if time allows, or in a private lesson. ATTENDANCE: Classes are at a quicker pace, challenging what you have learned and have been working on in your private and semi-private lessons. If you become injured (car accident, sprained ankle, etc.) it is YOUR responsibility to ask the teacher BEFORE THE DAY OF THE CLASS if you shoud still attend class. It is considered to be a class because there are 4 or more people. It cannot become a private lesson. If you have not been to class for a while, you are urged to consider taking a lower level class or a few extra lessons before jumping back into your normal class. This will help avoid injury. MISCELLANEOUS: If for any reason you need to leave the class early, please do so with discretion and do not disrupt the entire class. Place yourself in the back of the class near the door. No chewing gum as you could choke on it. At the end of the session please make sure any equipment you used is cleaned off with the spray bottle cleaner and put back where you got it.
