Rachel Nace

Rachel Nace began her study of dance in 1982. She danced for 11 years in pre-professional companies and danced professionally for one year. Rachel has studied with many companies and teachers throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland. Rachel has taught dance to persons age 3 – adult since 1991 and has taught dance at Harcum College. She served as Ballet Mistress for Greater York Youth Ballet and has guest taught and choreographed at regional ballet companies. She completed master teacher John White’s Teaching Program in July of 2003. Ms. Rachel is the Director of the Dance Program at Inspiration to Movement, Inc. She teaches Intermediate and Advanced classes and the Adult Program.

Rachel began her “traditional” Pilates study in 1997 and earned her Teaching Certificate of Completion in 1999. She served as a training teacher for a Teacher Training Program in Rosemont, PA. After injuries from two car accidents left her in pain and with decreased range of motion, Ms. Nace began studying the Ron Fletcher Work in 2001. In November of 2005 she earned her National Certification from the Pilates Method Alliance, one of the first 200 in the world to complete the test without aid of the study guide. Rachel earned her certificate from the Fletcher Pilates® Comprehensive Program (Formerly the Ron Fletcher Program of Study) in January of 2006 as the first Qualified Teacher in the state of Pennsylvania and on the East Coast. Rachel is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and the Fletcher Pilates, Inc. Rachel is a Facilitator for the Fletcher Pilates® Program of Study.  Mrs. Nace has had experience working with many different types of bodies and many different pathologies.  In 2000 Rachel began her study of Massage Therapy, Anatomy and Physiology, and Pathology. In 2001 Rachel Nace studied and completed a 109 hour program on Corrective Medical Massage. She earned her Diplomas in Professional Massage Therapy and Medical Massage Therapy from Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy (now Cortiva Institute) and her National Certification in Massage and Bodywork in 2001. In 2002 Rachel completed a four-level program on Therapeutic Touch. She has taken courses in Cranio-sacral Therapy, Aromatherapy, Visceral Manipulation, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Kinesiology, Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, Chakra Therapy, Advanced Sports Massage and Ligament Therapy for Common Injuries.  Ms. Nace enjoys learning and continues to widen her spectrum of knowledge.

In 2006 Rachel began studying ballroom dancing. In 2009 Ms. Nace moved to Ohio to dance professionally. In a very short amount of time she has won many titles including Fred Astaire 4-time Ohio Regional Open American Smooth Champions, Kentucky Rising Star American Smooth Champions, Yuletide Ball Rising Star Champions and Fred Astaire Ohio Regional International Standard Champions. She has also been Showdance Finalist in the United States Dance Championship; Rising Star American Smooth Finalists at: Fred Astaire Nationals, Nashville Starz, Cincinnati Dancesport, Volunteer State, Michigan Dance Challenge; and Open American Smooth Finalists at Philadelphia Festival; to name a few. Rachel enjoys teaching and competing with her amateur students. If it is for social dancing, rehabilitation or competition Rachel has a passion to see all of her students achieve new heights of accomplishment.

In 2021, Rachel studied to practice as a Doula through the Maternity Wish Institute.  She has found great joy in helping empower women in this way and is honored to be part of such an amazing process with the mothers.
